This relatively new type of flooring has taken the market by storm! In new construction, first time home buyer homes up into the luxury dream home market. Everybody is familiar with this product, but there are a few facts that may not be known to all people. LVP is made primarily of PVC or Polyvinyl chloride.
Like many other products, there are different qualities available. The lower end is not waterproof and will require a moisture barrier under it. Not so with the higher quality LVP’s. The better ones, in addition to being practically waterproof, come with a 30 year warranty. There are different types of installation techniques. In our new construction homes, we use the tongue n groove snap together type with the rubber backing to provide sound deadening and comfortable walking. You won’t worry about leaks like refrigerator, plumbing, dishwasher, etc.. These leaks won’t hurt this floor. In addition, It is resistant to scratching, staining and daily use. Even families with kids and large dogs need not fear.
There are many styles available that will look like natural wood but wear much better, even in commercial applications.
