Spend an afternoon exploring the wonders of Mississippi in their exhibits. A tribute to the life of Pulitzer Price winning author Endora Welty. This was her home for 76 years. Her mother and her created the garden and she maintained it long after her mothers death. Her home and works were donated to the state and is now a national historical landmark.

Smith Robertson Museum & Cultural Center in the heart of the city of Jackson, houses artifacts, documents that represents the African-American experience of Mississippi. The building was the first public school in Jackson for African-American children.
The Oaks House MuseumHome of James Hervey Boyd mayor of Jackson during the civil war. This is one of a few structures that survived the burning of Jackson by Union Soldier. The home reflects middle class life in the 1800's. Visit the Oaks House Museum and learn about the history and life of the Boyd family. On the National Register of Historic Places.
